The
National Geographic documentary “Women
of K2” has been nominated as one of the forty finalists
for best mountain film that would be shown during the festival.
The selection has been made among three hundred films presented
for competition. Araceli
Segarra was part of this documentary while climbing K2
in 2002. On this expedition she attempted the south-southeast
ridge, otherwise known as Cesen Route, in a light
semi-alpine style, with no oxigen, no altitude sherpas
and with mexican Hector Ponce de Leon as her
sole climbing partner.
